Here we can see one of the skilled workers hand shaping a natural shape lamp from salt blocks mined from the nearby Khewra mine. Each lamp is chipped from a block with a special hammer then washed and dried in the hot sun before being packaged to ship world wide. Our shaped lamps are turned up on a special lathe which is very difficult to do and for every one successfully made an average of 4 are lost to waste. |
